Washing Instructions help : Machine Wash Gentle/Tumble Dry Low

Rated 3 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful! Just don't machine wash, no matter what the care instructions say... This fabric was gorgeous when it arrived. The color was perfect, the drape exactly what I wanted. I just felt like wrapping myself up in it and staring at it for awhile. Then I put it in the wash (I wash all fabric before I use it) on delicate and tumbled it dry on low, as the instructions suggest. Unfortunately, the little lycra threads woven into the fabric somehow managed to get pulled out in places, creating unsightly loops all over the fabric, and utterly changing the texture (it now appears crinkled and does not lay flat.) I'm not sure what to do with it now. I still love the color, and I hate for 2.5 yards of scrumptious plum-purple to go to waste. I use an HE machine without a traditional agitator, so I'm not sure how this happened. This fabric should probably be hand washed or placed in a mesh lingerie bag and then hung to dry. Unfortunately the mesh bags I have were too small to hold the quantity I ordered. I am now debating whether to make do with what I have, or order more and wash it differently next time. March 6, 2014
