I received this fabric in red and was terribly disappointed due to the fact that it was so lightweight and thin that it was translucent when held up to the light. I could see the outline of my hand through the fabric. I am glad, due to another reviewer's experience with extreme transfer of the red dye when the fabric was washed, that I sent the fabric back for a refund. I have not had very good luck with Kaufman fabrics at all.and will probably not buy them again.

Ultra lightweight corduroy-- I'd recommend it for blouses, dresses and skirts rather than pants. The red I got is not the deep true red my monitor shows, but rather a lighter, candy-toned red. Not really a big deal, and possibly just a monitor effect. HOWEVER:
I have never had a fabric bleed like this before. Sure, red cotton is generally going to bleed a bit, but I pre-washed it in a sink and the water turned saturated, near-opaque. I filled it with salt water and tried again, same effect. Dyed my rubber sink stopper bright pink. I found myself wondering if I had anything that needed to be dyed red, because I could have just thrown it into the sink. I'm about four sink-washes in, and my hands are bright red, and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do.
This is really a nice fabric besides the bleeding; and I might go so far as to recommend other colors that are less likely to bleed. You want a yellow, or perhaps a nice green? You'll probably be just fine. But unless you have a really good way to stop bleeding, maybe think twice about the red, huh?
