The texture and drape of this fabric were exactly what I was looking for. The amount of stretch is tiny, barely 10%, and feels more mechanical than it should for a fabric containing lycra. So if you're looking for actual stretchy satin maybe skip this one. For me it was just fine as I intend to use it for bra cups, so I was actually glad it wasn't too stretchy. The loss of a star is attributed to the color, which was not as deep a red as I was expecting. While deeper than "christmas red" (which I did NOT want), it is definitely much lighter than the picture, and has slight pinkish tinge. Having seen the actual color in a store, I would not have purchased it. This will not prevent me from using it for the planned projects, but I remain on the lookout for the perfect dark red stretch satin!

I'm in love with the entire line of Tahari stretch satins! They're all stunningly beautiful, with rich, luminous colors. This one is a deep blood-red, very thin and lightweight, with exquisite drape. It's thinner than charmeuse, with a more subtle sheen. It's not as difficult to sew with, either, although it does present some challenges. Technically, it's a stretch satin, but it's only 10% stretch---just enough to give it a slight give, so it drapes perfectly.
I use the Tahari satins to make evening gowns for dolls, but they could work for any number of things. My only concern is that the fabric does fray easily, so make sure you finish your seams. Other than that, I highly recommend it!
