MC: (1) 10.5” x 10.5”
CC: (1) 10.5” x 2.5”
BC: (6) 2.5” x 2.5”
We will be preparing the snowglobe block by using the same method as for Half Square Triangles (HST’s). To prepare for this method, mark a line on all of your 2.5” squares from one corner to the other to sew over.
Sew the squares.
On the main square for your snowglobe, place four 2.5” squares on all corners, making sure your lines match up. Sew over the lines you drew in the previous step so that when finished, the shape of the snowglobe will be the same, but with white corners.
Trim on the outside of the squares. Press open.
On the base piece, do the same by placing 2 squares on each end and sew as before and trim. Press open.
Sew these two pieces together to form a snowglobe block. Press seams open.
Now you have a versatile quilt block perfect for any holiday quilt.
Happy holiday sewing!
