Moda Fabrics was born out of United Notions and is based in Dallas, Texas. They have been in the fabric and quilting business since 1975. Moda is one of the first fabric companies to create coordinating collections of quilting fabrics – how helpful is that! They were also the first to offer their own pre-cut fabrics like fat quarters and charm packs (even more helpful if you hate to cut out!). Moda's designers include 3 Sisters, Kansas Troubles, Sandy Gervais, and MoMo.
- Moda Fabrics uses a combination of in-house and guest designers to create their collections each season.
- In-house designer Erin Michaels created the iconic 5 Funky Monkeys collection.
- Moda’s precut assortments have bakery names like Jelly Rolls, Turnovers, and Honeybuns that represent fat quarters, strips, and charms.
- Moda Fabrics’ blog is called The Cutting Table, and features news about upcoming collections and stories about their designers.
