Rated 4 out of 5 by FabricJunkie Very lightweight for a rib knit
The color is a bit off in this photo--it's more of a purple and doesn't have that rich, red, plum-y tone (on my monitor, anyhow). This is a typical sheer hatchi knit. It's rib knit, but don't let that fool you. It's very lightweight. Unless you're making a cardigan or some other layering piece, plan on cutting two layers. I made a nice turtleneck out of this by cutting two front and back pieces and doubling them up. I would avoid making this into a dress. It's very stretchy and I think it would sag and stretch out of shape if you used it for a project that large. On the plus side, this is a super soft fabric. It's very cuddly and warm. It's also pretty easy to work with, since it's so stretchy. If you need to pull it a little more here and there, it goes with no problem. It does fray, though, so plan on finishing all of your seams.
