The design is gorgeous but it certainly isn't a voile...nor is it a very nice broadcloth even. I am hoping is softens up a bit in the wash. It definitely will not make the flowy top I was thinking of.

I love the design of the print and although the quality of the cotton appears to be good, the hand is not like that of any other voile I have purchased. It is slightly thinner than the Cloud 9 quilting weight cotton, but not as lightweight as a voile should be. It definitely doesn't have the drape that a voile would either. Now that I look back at the description of the fabric, 44 inches wide is not the norm for voile either. Voile is usually a wide fabric, around 52 inches. I think Cloud 9 is using a lighter weight cotton and calling it voile. I was going to make infinity scarves to give as Christmas gifts, but it is not soft, so I don't want to give my family something to wear around their neck and touching a part of the body where the skin is so delicate that isn't very soft. I guess I'll make myself a dress, since it should be fine for that purpose. But if you are looking for the typical lightweight, flowy, really soft voile that other fabric companies sell, be aware that this is not the same.
