It is stiffer than I imagined but for drapes, I think that's a good thing. Because it is scratchy, I can't really see if for apparel unless you could wash the sizing out of it, but it is dry clean only - polyester? I'm real tempted to put the swatch in the sink and see what happens. Sometimes I think the Dry Cleaners of America pay fabric and clothing manufactures to label things DC only. In all fairness, the shimmer could be in a coating that can't handle washing. As the other reviewer said, used as drapes, this fabric needs to be lined, Well, I would do that anyway with purple, or any color where I was trying to fake silk. Big advantage that I won't have to run a seem in the face of my drapes as this is just the right size for my windows
Unless I was removing the duvet for sleeping, I wouldn't want to use this as a cover because of the rough finish and the fact that it isn't washable. My biggest concern is that the fabric is skewed to the tune of a 1/2 " over the 8" swatch. If it's like that on the bolt well it's not like two people can bias stretch 10' fabric to square it back up so in my mind that makes this a no go. But I'm assuming it's merely the swatches that are cut on an angle and so for drapes I'll give it a go. .

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nina Stiff, opaque, not very rich in color
Color is not as vibrant and rich as depicted. The fabric is opaque and stiff. Unless you have a lining material this is not good for most applications.

I bought this fabric to make a skirt for the TX Renaissance Festival. I just got it yesterday and checked it out, it is beautiful! It is lightweight, but not flowy like chiffon. It has some body to it. This would work great for busltles, corsets, etc. The color is true to the picture, however, monitor colors can be off. Mine was right on!! Yay!
