Granted, buying fabric online can be a mixed bag, especially when you're trying to figure out shades of color. That being said, the red shown here is certainly not the same color as the fabric once you see it in person. The actual color is much brighter, and in some lights, seems to have some almost dark hot pink or fuchsia tones in the highlights. It is certainly not as deep or rich a tone as seen in the photo.
Color tones, especially with reds, can be difficult to capture, and I've noticed that the colors usually run a shade or more brighter than seen in the photos. That being said, the shade and even the tone was less vibrant than expected, so I was somewhat disappointed.
I'm undecided right now as to how I'll use the fabric, both because of the color, and also because of the weight. I had originally purchased it for a pattern calling for medium weight knits, but this fabric feels lighter than what I'd expect of a medium weight knit. The weave feels "fluffier" than some other ITY knits I've worked with. I've worked with other colors of ITY jersey knit in this line, and I didn't need to line the shirt I made for see through, but it IS unforgiving about any clothing lines underneath (read: bra lines).
This particular jersey may work best in looser, swingier patterns to take advantage of it's fluidity.
