  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from Designer look This is a LOVELY print, first off. I am hooked on Art Gallery fabrics lately! It's super soft and cottony, but the spandex gives it great stretch and recovery. While it looks like there might be some shading in the product photo, it's really just a flat deep navy print on white. It fools the eye into seeing shadings and gradations that aren't actually there, however. This is a really cool effect! I plunked the fabric into my washer on warm/cold to prewash, and read mid-cycle at the manufacturer's site that you should only wash this on cold. Oops! No harm was done, thankfully, but you should also note that AG does not recommend ironing this one, either. I air dried it and fluffed it in the dryer with no heat. I'm making a tee with it, and ironing is a must, especially at the neckband... I set my iron to the silk setting and am only ironing on the wrong side. So far, so good. This fabric rolls A LOT at the cut edges, so it is a little frustrating that I can't give it a good starch and press. I'm just having to be very careful. I tried sewing it with a ballpoint needle, and that made a huge mess. I switched to a stretch needle which helped immensely. Also am using a walking foot, triple stretch stitch, and my favorite Mara 120 Gutermann thread. Fabric is thin and lightweight, but doesn't seem to need lining or layering as a garment.
