Description: This bestselling blackout drapery muffles sound and helps reduce out-of-room noises at the window. Perfect for homes, nurseries, schools, and workplaces, this drapery lining insulates and helps keep rooms cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. This 3-pass lining allows you to use the lining as a standalone drapery if desired because it features a layer of white foam, black foam, then a third and final layer of white foam to achieve 100% blackout with both sides of the lining remaining white in color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thick Thick enough to blackout all the light Heavy Doesn't fray October 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good price for heavy-duty blackout fabric I used this to make blackout curtains for our master bedroom. We still see light around the periphery of the curtains, but I don't think any is coming through the fabric. It is very thick and plasticky and has a plastic smell while I was sewing it, but is not noticeable in the room once hung. It also gives a good stiffness and weight to the curtains more than just the twill alone. I did notice that it feeds through the machine differently than cotton twill, but no problems sewing it with a regular needle and thread. Great that it doesn't fray. August 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stuff! I have completed one curtain made with this material and am convinced this is the way to go! There is NO light entering the room on the side of the window that is complete. This is going to make a HUGE difference this summer on the west side of the house, just keeping the afternoon sun from scorching the furniture and carpet in that room. Love it, thinking about other windows I can use it on when the family room drapes are finished. April 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great blackout fabric What the other reviewers have said: it is 54" wide, very easy to sew (use a denim needle), and works well. The fabric does not fray, so edge finishes aren't strictly necessary. I found it difficult to press, but didn't bother pressing them (it's just curtains). I've had the finished curtains up since August 2014, and wow, they completely block the light! Excellent value for the price. I over ordered about half a yard and have been using the scraps to make darted toiletry/make-up bags. The material stands up fairly well by itself, no special interfacing or backing, in a darted bag and the smoother/polyester side can be wiped clean in case of spills. January 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Width is wider than 54 inches Because the width listed on the site is not accurate, I ordered far too much material than I needed. Not happy about that. March 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent quality and great price I purchased this fabric to make blackout curtains to hang over two entryways into our formal dining room (AKA playroom/guestroom with futon). I wanted to block light and some sound which could enter the room when guests were sleeping. This material literally let no light through when a flashlight was held up to it! Works perfectly and was easy to sew under a cotton panel. Am using again! November 14, 2013
